John Nelson aka: Sir Lawnsalot

John Nelson –President of LSMRA, Sir Lawns-a-lot #61.   I have been racing for 5 years in AP, SP, IMOW and FX classes.  Two-time winner of the Topsy turby  (most flips) award.  I saw lawn mower racing on TV and decided to give it a try.  I had previously participated in the Richard Petty Driving School, Demolition Derby Race, Tried out for the Junkyard Wars TV show. And was lucky enough to be on the USA Network Commercial “Characters Welcome” I build my own mowers and have raced in 5 of the 6 racing classes.  Just look for the Green and Yellow Mowers with the number 61.  Hopefully I will be the one out front. As President of the LSMRA, I schedule the racing venues and produce the DVD’s from each race along with having fun racing with the best group of women and men anywhere.

Charles Powell aka: Mr Mowjangles.

Charles Powell,  Past President of the LSMRA died unexpectedly and way too soon. Charles was USLMRA VP of Operations.  Winner of the 2005 Pain in the Butt Award and simply,  Mr. Mowjangles.  Charles was a tireless and  MOWtivated racer, Staff Member, Chapter President, Chief Steward and key leader of the USLMRA. He implemented the local chapter system, designed our new database, provided guidance for new Chapters, and updated the annual Rulebook. Charles was buried in his USLMRA Chief Stewart Shirt and a signed LSMRA Hat.  Charles raced in the SP and AP classes with numerous Trophies both in local chapter races and national racing.
